In a World of War and Wild Apes… One Hike Dares to Revisit the Legends.

"Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!"
Get ready! This hike takes us past film locations straight out of famous Hollywood movies!
There's been hundreds of shows and films in Malibu State Park, some of the best known include the original Planet of the Apes films, M*A*S*H* TV series, Roots, jumping scene from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Pleasantville, Love Me Tender and many more.
Malibu State Park is a gem and even if we don't have the sets to remind us of the films, we have the great nature. Note the earlier start time, we will try and beat the heat (near possible, but worth trying)
About 5 miles in total, it's an out and back with a little elevation.
Unfortunately dogs on are not allowed.
Remember water, hat, sunscreen and a decent pair of shoes.
Parking at Malibu State park opens at 8am.
We meet at the lower parking lot next to the restrooms at 8:10am and leave around 8:15am

Park inside Malibu State Park (pay) or outside at Mulholland and Las Virgenes (free)
NOT rain or shine. If it rains, hike will be postponed.
